چکیده

In DS-CDMA cellular communications systems, the single frequency reuse can be utilized. Since large other-cell interference is produced, the well known soft handover or site diversity must be used. If the single frequency reuse is not utilized to avoid the other-cell interference, we will face the frequency allocation problem, similar to FDMA systems. In this paper, a DS-CDMA cellular system using band division is proposed. The available wide frequency band is divided into several narrow frequency bands and the different frequency bands are allocated to adjacent cells so as to avoid the large other-cell interference. For the frequency allocation, the channel segregation distributed channel allocation (CS-DCA) algorithm is applied. The link capacity is evaluated by computer simulation. key words: channel assignment, channel segregation, DS-CDMA, link capacity

Frequency Reuse Efficiency of A DS-CDMA Cellular System Using Band Division and Channel Segregation

Abstract In DS-CDMA cellular communications systems, the single frequency reuse is utilized and hence large co-channel interference is received from other cells. If the single frequency reuse is not utilized to reduce the other-cell interference, we will face the frequency allocation problem, similar to FDMA systems. In this paper, we divide the available wide frequency band into several narrow...

Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Distributed Dynamic Channel Assignment for Multi-Hop DS-CDMA Virtual Cellular Network

In this paper, the channel segregation dynamic channel allocation (CS-DCA) scheme is applied to a multi-hop DS-CDMA virtual cellular network (VCN). After all multi-hop routes are constructed over distributed wireless ports in a virtual cell, the CS-DCA is carried out to allocate the channels to multi-hop up and down links. Each wireless port is equipped with a channel priority table. The transm...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Analysis of the Relation between Chip Rate and Capacity in DS/CDMA Cellular Systems Considering Adjacent Channel Interference

While higher chip rate can provide better performance for Direct Sequence/Code Division Multiple Access (DS/CDMA) systems due to larger process gain, it may also induce spectrum emission to adjacent channels, i.e., adjacent channel interference. Especially, if different operators use adjacent channels in the same area with uncoordinated power levels, such interference becomes large, and excessi...
